Description:
Safe Routes to School is a program to improve the safety of school routes, therefore enabling and encouraging children to walk and bike to school. The national Safe Routes to School program was enacted in 2005 and now operates in all 50 states and D.C. The national Safe Routes to Schools website provides resources such as program tools, events & activities, trainings, and data central. The website highlights a Safe Routes to School toolbox and the “walk to school day” campaign.
