Description/Learning Outcomes:

The National Center for Rural Road Safety (Safety Center) hosted a FREE, 1.5 hour webinar.

This Safety Center sponsored webinar provided participants with the ability to utilize signing and marking resources, identify the critical safety issues in signing maintenance, and consider the critical liability issues with signing maintenance.

The  content included:

  • Understanding the benefits of signing and marking improvements;
  • Using standards and maintenance policies to reduce risk and liability; and
  • Implementing signing and marking countermeasures to reduce crashes.

The presenter was:

  • Robert Hull, Cambridge Systematics. Mr. Hull has more than 25 years of experience in the areas of transportation safety planning, safety program development and management, traffic engineering, and strategic planning and analysis. His experience includes transportation safety programs on the state, national, and international levels. As the former Director of the Traffic and Safety Division of Utah DOT, he possesses extensive knowledge in the development of statewide direction, policies, and procedures for all traffic and safety management related to programs aimed at improving roadway safety. He leverages this expertise to help agencies at all levels – DOT, MPO, regional, and local – to better approach transportation safety planning and implementation.
