Tribal Road Safety Audit (RSA) Workshop

On March 1-2, 2016, the Northwest Transportation Tribal Technical Assistance Program (NW TTAP)  conducted a hands-on tribal road safety audit (RSA) workshop. The host tribe was the Lummi Nation from Bellingham, WA and the training instructors were Adam Larsen and Craig Allred from the Federal Highway Administration.

The goals of the workshop were to:

  1. Teach tribes in the Northwest region how to conduct a multi-disciplinary RSA which would allow them to identify countermeasure projects to include in their transportation safety plans; and
  2. Accomplish the first goal by providing them with hands-on experience in conducting a RSA for two locations within Lummi Nation.
