Access to EMS Data
EMS agencies that serve rural areas face unique challenges including traveling greater distances, responding to a high rate of fatal crashes, working with less funding, and often operating with a volunteer staff. Crash data that is enhanced with specific EMS information can help road agencies to locate crash hotspots and identify countermeasures to improve safety and decrease fatalities.
This section provides resources and examples for EMS data collection and management.
