Enforcement Laws and Policies
Traffic safety enforcement is an integral part of many road safety programs, and is the responsibility of local law enforcement agencies. Enforcement is an effective tool to reduce risky driving behaviors and to implement safety initiatives/campaigns, because drivers are more apt to drive responsibly with the threat of enforcement. Examples of enforcement of laws and policies include monitoring compliance and issuing citations for violations of speed limits, red lights, stop signs, stopping at crosswalks, and driving under the influence.
This section provide resources on best practices for law and policy enforcement.
