Incident Management
Incident management is a coordinated plan to detect, respond, and clear an incident quickly and safely. This process is multi-disciplinary and multi-jurisdictional; it involves collaboration among road agencies, law enforcement, and emergency responders. Incident management in a rural area has unique challenges due to the terrain, limited communication infrastructure, and lack of alternative routes.
This section provides resources to coordinate and facilitate rural incident management.
