Low Cost Countermeasures
The need to make roads safer and decrease fatalities is nationwide; traditional countermeasures often involve large scale and costly construction or infrastructure projects. However, many agencies responsible for implementing countermeasures have financial constraints, especially in rural areas. Therefore, it is imperative that agencies have information about low-cost countermeasures that can enhance safety and are effective on rural roads.
This section provides examples of low-cost countermeasures that can be used in rural areas.
