Safety Performance Measures and Monitoring
Safety performance measures and monitoring efforts allow road agencies to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of implemented countermeasures. These efforts help to identify necessary adjustments, refinements or upgrades, and also ensure that resources are being properly allocated. Evaluation and monitoring are extremely important in rural areas with limited resources and other financial constraints.
This section provides resources on creating safety performance measures and conducting monitoring efforts.
