Roundabouts

A roundabout is a safety countermeasure for reducing the number of potential conflicts (such as left-turns) at an intersection. A roundabout is a circular intersection where the incoming traffic yields to the traffic within the roundabout. Research on 19 rural roundabouts found that they significantly reduced total crashes by 62 to 67 percent and injury crashes by 85 to 88 percent.
