Will Technology Bring an End to Wildlife Collisions? When it’s Good to be Fenced In!

The Road to Zero Coalition

In a partnership launched the first week in October, the heavy hitters in transportation safety have formed the Road to Zero Coalition- created to better chase the goal of ending roadway fatalities in the next 30 years. The USDOT National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Federal Highway Administration, and Federal Motor Carrier Administration will team with the National Safety Council to focus on the promotion of lifesaving strategies, and then tackle the development of a systemic approach to eliminate risks.

The Road to Zero Coalition takes its name from the many state and local “zero” fatality visions that have been adopted throughout the Unites States. The four partner organizations represent the “4Es”- Education, Engineering, Enforcement, and Emergency Medical Services- the four links necessary to address infrastructure, technology, enforcement, and behavioral considerations.
