Spread the word about National Safety Month’s Driving Safety Week!
Posted on May, 31st 2018
Safety should be EVERY day, but June just so happens to be designated as National Safety Month and week four is focused on driving safety—let’s use this as another reason to do safety outreach in our organizations and communities.
The work of the National Safety Council is to eliminate preventable deaths at work, in homes and communities, and on the road through leadership, research, education and advocacy
. As part of their efforts, the National Safety Council (NSC) has created the National Month of Safety, with Driving selected as the fourth week topic. All of us are interested in safe driving, but not always able to communicate the message to our family, friends, and colleagues. The NSC has produced freely accessible materials to the public to help spread the word about driving safety, including an easy to read fact sheet that is appropriate for drivers of any age. The fact sheet includes a list of dangerous driving behaviors and proper use of vehicle safety features. The NSC also has posted two articles about drowsy driving and cell phone use while driving that can be downloaded and shared. The free resources are available at https://www.nsc.org/pages/nsm-public-materials
