Registration underway: Road Safety Champion Program Adds First Responders, Public Health Pathways

BOZEMAN, MONTANA – 7/23/2025 – The National Center for Rural Road Safety (the Center) recently added two new career pathways to the Road Safety Champion Program (RSCP).

In addition to the previously offered Maintenance and Construction and Planning and Engineering career pathways, all modules for the Public Health and First Responders career pathways are ready. Registration is currently underway.

The next round of modules starts August 19, beginning with the Core Modules.

“We are proud to offer these new pathways,” said Jaime Sullivan, director of the Center. “This effort reflects our continued commitment to equipping practitioners with the knowledge they need to make rural roads safer.”

The Center also recently announced the graduation of 69 additional Road Safety Champions from the RSCP. A list of all RSCP Champions can be found here.

The RSCP provides intensive ‘Road Safety 101’ training through web-based modules that cover the core topics of road safety and road safety in four various career pathways. The modules may be taken in any order and are administered through the Center and participating LTAPs.
