FHWA is accepting Build a Better Mousetrap nominations

BOZEMAN, MONTANA – 3/11/2024 – Have you found a clever solution to a rural transportation problem in your area? The Florida Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Build a Better Mousetrap program is now accepting nominations.

Build a Better Mousetrap acknowledges innovative solutions for challenges that local and tribal transportation workers encounter. Last year’s competition highlighted 53 innovations which ranged from the development of tools and equipment modifications to the implementation of new processes that increase safety, reduce cost, and improve efficiency of the transportation system.

FHWA’s Local Aid Support team is currently taking nominations through Friday, June 7.  Agencies should contact their state’s Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) Center or regional Tribal Technical Assistance Program (TTAP) Center for more information and assistance on the application.
