Minnesota LTAP Offers Roadway Design Series Online

BOZEMAN, MONTANA – 10/16/2023 – Transportation engineers and design professionals can now access an online training series on the fundamentals of roadway design for $50 or less per module.

The Minnesota Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) is offering the training series.

“This is a great opportunity for practitioners in rural areas, where securing financial resources for training may be a challenge,” said Janet Leli, the training manager at the National Center for Rural Road Safety. “We applaud the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and the Minnesota LTAP for providing this opportunity.”

The Geometric Design Training Series is a revamp of a former video-based series originally developed in the 1990s and updated with current design standards, best practices, and technology.

The new online series contains 29 e-learning modules to educate both design technicians and entry level engineers. The modules are free to Minnesota local agency employees and $50 per module for all other users.

The university will provide unlimited access to participants once registered through June 30, 2026.

Register for the series here.
